Message of the Day from Rev. Mary White
Good Afternoon and Blessings
I love spending time with my sister. We both inherited our mother’s sense of humour. And, when we are together, we share memories that cause us to have long gut straining laughs to the point where we are gasping for breath. Sometimes the laughter is triggered by just a look. We share our stories with others but most often, they don’t understand the humour like we do. We are frequently given peculiar looks, but we laugh anyway.
We obviously feel secure enough with each other to allow our inner child the freedom of expression.
Keep safe, Keep connected.
Blessings and the strength of Love be with you.

AT HOME WITH WHO I AM
by Joyce Rupp
Letting go was mid-life's central gesture. You let go of people and you let go of expectations, and if you were lucky, you found a way to do it without letting go of hope.
—Elizabeth Kay
she found the skin
lying there
on her front doorstep.
she told me this
in a disgusted voice,
filled with a bit of fear,
said she got the broom
and hastily swept
the skin away.
an unsuspecting snake
slipping out of
a piece of its life,
shedding a shell
of what used to be,
leaving behind
a thin transparent slip
of a former reality. I thought:
I'd have received that skin
on my doorstep,
a graced moment of calling.
I'd have wondered
at the synchronicity
of its presence. but then I realized
the turns and tumbles
of my inner life,
and knew that I, too,
have swept many a skin
away from my doorstep
with just as much disgust
and terror.
Prayer Of The Day
Heart of all Goodness,
As we mature in age, may we never lose sight of the inner child who is always with us. May we remember to occasionally let go of the daily grind and dance with the Spirit. May we sweep away the dust from our past and with joy, sing out loud. May we never be discouraged but live in the depths of hope. From our heart, we pray in the name of the One who lived His life from the heart.
Amen.
