GRANDPARENTS DAY - SEPT. 13/20
“If I had known grandchildren were so wonderful, I would have had them first!!”
We love each one dearly, enjoy their company, spoil them rotten and then get to send them home!!
A close relationship between grandparent and grandchild can have a positive impact on the happiness and well-being of the entire family. Simply put, having grandparents around is good for everyone. A healthy connection between grandchild and grandparents is beneficial to both sides of the relationship.
5 Reasons Grandparents are so Important:
Grandparents truly impact their grandchildren’s lives. Through regular contact, a sense of emotional intimacy, and unwavering support, children can experience what a true, positive relationship should look like.
Grandparents can greatly reduce household stress. A study has shown that “an emotionally close relationship between grandparent and grandchild is associated with fewer symptoms of depression for both generations.
Grandparents have a great amount of experience. Children understand more of who they are and where they come from through connection with their grandparents.
Grandparents provide a sense of security. Having an extra layer of support can make a big difference in a child’s life. Children often find it easier to open up and share problems with grandparents — an extra set of ears!
With so many parents both working, it is often times the grandparents that play a vital role in raising today’s youth.
Grandparents are cherished members of our family. They bring gifts of wisdom, experience and love, and share with us their life of faith. We thank God for their example and ask that He bless them with happiness and good health.
“The Lord bless you from Zion. May you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life. May you see your children’s children. Peace be upon you, Israel.” ~Ps. 125
Lord God Almighty,
Bless our grandparents with long life, happiness and health.
May they remain constant in love,
And be living signs of Your presence to their children and grandchildren.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
