Message of the Day from Rev. Mary White
Good Afternoon and Blessings
As I was thinking of belonging, Maslow’s hierarchy of needs came to mind. He developed a pyramid of human needs where each level described the basic requirements to live a fulfilled life. At the bottom are physiological needs such as food, water, shelter, and clothing. As we move up the pyramid, we have security and safety needs such as being free from harm, financial security, and being healthy. Then there is a need to belong and be loved; followed by self-esteem where we need to be contributing to society and what we do is valued by others. And finally, there is self-actualization which is being self-aware and focusing on fulfilling one's potential. I wonder, are your needs being fulfilled? And, if not then what can be done to ensure that they are?
Keep safe, Keep connected.
Blessings and the strength of Love be with you.

A Reading Excerpt From: Neil Paynter’s “Gathered and Scattered.”
Jesus came to show us what God is like, to offer us the opportunity, even the choice, to discover the balanced world that is God’s love – Jesus came to tell us that God loves us and that we belong. Our mark of belonging is our living in alignment with God, in the knowledge and joy that God loves us so much that God was prepared to die. And because of this, God brings us all to new life, to be healed and reconciled, to live authentically and with integrity in a new world. Do you live in that knowledge and joy?
Prayer
Creating Spirit,
You continue to call Your people to pursue You into the future, inviting us to new adventures, new challenges, new ways to care, new ways to touch the hearts of all.
When we become fearful of the unknown, give us courage. Courage and strength in knowing to whom we belong and who walks with us along life’s path.
When we get weary, or feel disheartened with the way things are going, remind us that you can bring change and hope out of the most difficult situations.
Help us to understand that we are more powerful because we are loved, and we belong.
Hear our prayers.
Amen
