Remaining Faithful with Reverend Mary White
Good Afternoon And Blessings
We often hear the cliché “the world is getting smaller”. From my perspective, the world is already quite small. With present day technology, we are able to see instantaneously what is happening at the farthest ends of the earth: the poverty, the suffering, racism, the injustices, war, and the celebrations, the joys, the laughter, new life. Given all this instant knowledge, one would think that we will be more compassion and loving towards those with so much less than we have. But with so much information, have we become acclimatized to all the worldly injustices?
Stay safe. Stay connected.
Blessings and the strength of Love be with you.
Rev. Mary
Reading • A Revitalised Human Consciousness Across The World
Excerpt From “Our Hearts Still Sing” by Peter Millar
Imagine shrinking the earth’s population to a village of 100 people
with all the existing human ratios remaining the same.
The village would have 61 Asians, 12 Europeans,
13 North or South Americans, 13 Africans.
One person from Oceania.
There would be 51 females and 49 males.
70 non-whites, 30 whites.
70 non-Christians and 30 Christians.
50% of the village’s wealth would be in the hands of 6 people – all North American citizens.
80 villagers would live in substandard housing;
70 villagers would be unable to read;
while 50 would suffer from malnutrition;
One villager would have a college education.
Prayer
Spirit of Gentleness
Blow through the world a new lease on life that develops a human consciousness embracing just and fair equity for all peoples. May we take these words from Micah seriously:
The Lord has told us what is good.
What is required of us is this:
To do what is just.
To show constant love.
And to live in humble fellowship with our God.
– Micah 6:8
We pray this in the name of Love.
Amen.
