Message from Light of God Ministry • Reverend Mary White
SOMETHING TO CONTEMPLATE
It is absolutely clear that God has called you to a free life. Just make sure that you don’t use this freedom as an excuse to do whatever you want to do and destroy your freedom. Rather, use your freedom to serve one another in love; that’s how freedom grows. For everything we know about God’s Word is summed up in a single sentence: Love others as you love yourself. That’s an act of true freedom. If you bite and ravage each other, watch out—in no time at all you will be annihilating each other, and where will your precious freedom be then?
~ Galatians 5:13-15

Dear Friends:
With a few warmer days and more light returning to the length of each day, it is nice to see more people enjoying being outside.
Where do you find the Holy? It can be fun to invite our children and youth to be very observant of nature as the seasons move around the calendar with the changes in trees and plants, and the amazing activities of the animals, birds, and insects we see around us. Creation always helps me see God's presence, the Holy, in our world.
The Parent Tot video includes the reading of a book called "I Am Respectful" as well as these songs: Down By the Bay; I Can Feel You Near Me God; Squirrel; The BIBLE; From My Head Down to my Toes; and Jesus Bids Us Shine.
The Family Fun video has a reading about two birds and an opportunity to hear a recording of each one's song, as well as the following tunes: The Corner Master Store; Kum By Ya; Over My Head; Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head; and I Am the Light of the World.
I hope you enjoy singing along.

Creator, what would you have me say and do today?
Be refreshing, like a cleansing rain. Let words that awaken joy and water the heart with love fall from your mouth. Let the sound of your voice be wet with laughter, and may it splash blessing onto everyone you speak with. Say what is true and helpful. Be clear in your actions, that others may see your best intentions. May you comfort those in need, sharing the water of tears, if need be, as you become one with their pain. May you flow where I lead today. Stay aware of wisdom and grace pouring out as you meet each circumstance and opportunity. Be refreshing. Be joy alive. Wash away negativity with appreciation and gratitude. Live with a clean heart. Be the living water of life today. Refresh and be refreshed.
Dishwasher Fund Raising 2023
After extraordinary attempt to repair our dish washer by Al and Tom it has been made clear due to outdated parts and the sheer age of the dishwasher a replacement is needed.
After researching options, a similar style dishwasher that would fit our needs has been priced out through Aaron’s Supplies to include installation. The total price is $15,000.
We are excited to announce that we are already over 2/3 of the way to our goal. Our heartfelt thanks to those who have already contributed. Working together we will get this needed new dishwasher.
If you would like to donate, cheques can be made PRUC, Re: Dishwasher Fundraiser, and the church will issue you a tax receipt. There is a dishwasher basket to collect donations outside of the Sanctuary entrance.
POEM
Excerpt from “Fig Trees and Furnaces” – Ruth Burgess
A Day Will Come (Obadiah 12–15, 21)
Do not gloat over the misfortune of others.
Do not stand at the crossroads and ambush those who are running for their lives.
Do not be happy when you see people in trouble.
Do not laugh at them in their suffering and distress.
A day will come when you will be treated as you have treated other people.
The earth and all its people belong to God.
Please mention Kids United to donate when you recycle your cans and bottles at the Recycle Depot.
God sees you as a blessing
PRAYER
Lift up our souls, Living Spirit, above the weary round of harassing thoughts, to your eternal presence. Lift up our minds to the pure, bright, serene atmosphere of your presence, that we may breathe freely, and rest there in your love. From there, surrounded by your peace, may we return to do or to bear whatever shall best represent whom we are meant to be.
~ Edward Pusey (1800 – 1882)
