Who's in Charge?

Daily Message and Prayer from Rev. Mary White

Good Afternoon and Blessings

Imagine being in charge of Canada, I wonder what changes/decisions you would make. Would they be for the benefit of all/most citizens or personal wants? If you think the responsibilities are beyond your comprehension, then I would have to agree with you.

No matter what party is in charge, there will always be something with which we disagree. And yes, there will be some in charge who are corrupt. But I have faith that most get involved with leadership roles in Canada for the right reasons—to improve living conditions. And sometimes we are not disappointed.

Grant recently brought to my attention the “Child Rearing Provision-Canada Pension Plan” form. This recognizes for CPP benefits, women/men whose employment was interrupted due to child rearing. At age 65, fill out the form and you will receive benefits that reflect those years you were at home caring for your child/children (up to age 7). If you are beyond age 65 then you will be reimbursed retroactively.

Finally, for parents, child rearing is beginning to be recognized as an important calling.

Keep safe, Keep connected.

Blessings and the strength of Love be with you.

Exodus 3:15, 4:1 (10-12) (MSG)

God continued with Moses: “This is what you’re to say to the Israelites: ‘God, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob sent me to you.’ This has always been my name, and this is how I always will be known. Moses objected, “They won’t trust me. They won’t listen to a word I say. They’re going to say, ‘God? Appear to him? Hardly!’” Moses raised another objection to God: “Master, please, I don’t talk well. I’ve never been good with words, neither before nor after you spoke to me. I stutter and stammer.” God said, “And who do you think made the human mouth? And who makes some mute, some deaf, some sighted, some blind? Isn’t it I, God? So, get going. I’ll be right there with you—with your mouth! I’ll be right there to teach you what to say.”

Prayer Of The Day

Listening Creator

It is never easy being in positions of leadership and sometimes mistakes are made. But You know our heart, our very intentions. Be with us when decisions are our responsibility and help us to make the right choices. Give us a voice to break the chains of injustices and the courage to take action for those who are marginalized. We ask this in the name of the One who lead by example.

Amen
