Our Community

Good Afternoon and Blessings

I have been observing the celebrations of the various communities of our neighbouring country supporting each other at the end of their long-awaited election results. I personally am grateful that democracy has won, and it demonstrates that in elections, every vote is significant.

Community, especially our faith community is essential during these times when we may be tired and feeling the disconnect of the lingering pandemic. Together we will get through what appears to be a second wave of the virus. Remember to continue to remain safe.

I am off for the next week as I prepare for the Advent and Christmas Seasons. We have lots to look forward to and know that I continue to keep you in my prayers.

We have each other, we have hope and we have Love.

Keep safe, Keep connected.

Blessings and the strength of Love be with you.

God sets us in community

By Ralph Morton, from “This is The Day” Neil Paynter (ed)

For we are not trying to build community. We can never do that. God sets us in community, and it is people’s indiscretion that is always breaking it. God has set us in inescapable community, in our family, in our neighbourhood, in all the relationships with others that life brings. And all the time we rebel. All the time we kick against the voids. When we are enlivened by the Spirit of Christ, we accept community and begin to live according to the laws of our being.

Prayer Of The Day

Faithful Presence

You born us into community and relationships, and through Jesus, we are taught what it means to Love.

Enter and stimulate our heart when we fail to see others as companions on our life journey. Enter and stimulate our heart when we fail to hear the cries of those who are suffering.

Enter and stimulate our heart to encourage us to embrace and support those who feel less than.

Enter and stimulate our heart we pray in the name of Love.

Amen
