Let Us Choose Love

Good Afternoon and Blessings,

This is another good day. Life is good! My prayer is that you and your family are staying well.

I want to thank you for your feedback on our first attempt on Sunday Service. I am told that 60 people signed in to the service. We have had requests to include the Reading of the Present. So we will try to accommodate that.

Let us continue to keep in our prayers and on our hearts all those who are front line workers—the nurses and doctors who put the lives of others first, the grocery store workers who are ensuring that we have enough to sustain us, the police officers who maintain a safe environment for us and the people of our communities who are consciously trying to curtail this virus by remaining  at least six feet physical distance.

Keep safe, Keep connected.

Blessings and the strength of Love be with you.

Matthew 22:36-40 (Living Bible)

“Sir, which is the most important command in the laws of Moses?”

Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind.’  This is the first and greatest commandment. The second most important is similar: ‘Love your neighbour as much as you love yourself.’  All the other commandments and all the demands of the prophets stem from these two laws and are fulfilled if you obey them. Keep only these and you will find that you are obeying all the others.”

Prayer Of The Day

Prayer for a Pandemic from St Bernadette.org

May we who are merely inconvenienced

Remember those whose lives are compromised.

May we who have no risk factors

Remember those most vulnerable.

May we who have the luxury of working from home

Remember those who must choose between preserving their health or making their rent.

May we who have the flexibility to care for our children when their schools close

Remember those who have no place to go.

May we who are losing our margin money in the upheaval of the economic market

Remember those who have no margin at all.

May we who settle in for a quarantine at home

Remember those who have no home.

As fear grips our country,

Let us choose love

During this time when we cannot physically wrap our arms around each other,

Let us yet find ways to be the loving embrace of God to our neighbours.

Amen.
