Daily Message and Prayer from Rev. Mary White

Good Evening and Blessings

Excerpt from “Voices Out of Lockdown”

A Poem by Thom Shuman

We Will Not Give In To Fear (Psalm 23)

God is the healthcare folk all around us: encouraging us to stay home, reminding us to wash our hands so we can help others be safe, teaching us how to be mindful and watch over ourselves and others.

Even as we shelter in place, we will not give in to fear, for God is with us, in those who phone us and care for us, in those who shop for us, and those who treat us.

Around a lonely table, in a houseful of family, in a hospital with strangers, God feeds us with grace, pouring out hope upon us, filling us with peace in the sleepless night.

I know, without any doubt, that God’s gentleness and compassion are walking right beside us, showing us the way home to the One who holds us in Love’s Heart forever.

Keep safe, Keep connected.

Blessings and the strength of Love be with you.

Micah 6:8-9 (MSG)

God has already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbour, be compassionate and loyal in your love, and don’t take yourself too seriously—take God seriously.

Attention! God calls out to the city!  If you know what’s good for you, you’ll listen. So listen, all of you!  This is serious business.

Prayer Of The day

Spirit God

Continue to feed us with your grace and Love. Keep us mindful and full of kindness toward those who are serving with love on the front lines. Walk with them and keep each one safe and healthy so they can continue in service for us all. Be with all who choose to travel this summer and keep them healthy and safe. Help us “to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with You, God.”  These things we offer in our prayers. Amen
