Words of Love

Message of the Day from Reverend Mary White

Good Afternoon and Blessings

Words can be inspiring and can also be discouraging. The impact will depend on who the deliverer is. Through positive reinforcement to a child, a parent has the power to impart confidence. With a desire to belong, an adolescent can be easily influenced by words from their peers. A doctor who calls an obese person fat can cause irreversible harm. A kind word from a stranger can lift our spirits and make our day. If our minds carry thoughts of Loving kindness for others, then our words will reflect Love.

Keep safe, Keep connected.

Blessings and the strength of Love be with you.

Reading • James 3:3-6

A bit in the mouth of a horse controls the whole horse. A small rudder on a huge ship in the hands of a skilled captain sets a course in the face of the strongest winds. A word out of your mouth may seem of no account, but it can accomplish nearly anything—or destroy it! It only takes a spark, remember, to set off a forest fire. A careless or wrongly placed word out of your mouth can do that. By our speech we can ruin the world, turn harmony to chaos, throw mud on a reputation, send the whole world up in smoke and go up in smoke with it.

Prayer

Spirit of Gentleness

You breathed Love into our very being and we came alive.

May the Loving words of God be in our homes,

May the Loving words of God be among us,

May the Loving words of God be within us,

May our hearts be filled with words of loving gentleness and reflect them to all we meet.

Thanks be to God.
