Message from Light of God Ministry
The Advent of Love
This week, as we approach the Advent of Love, we draw ever nearer to love, to our hearts, and to the sacredness within.
The true life is born in love, lives in love, and dies in love. It is this love we share through the birth of Christ and celebrate at Christmas.
Christ was the embodiment of God’s love. His life purpose and mission was to awaken each of us to the same divine splendour within, so that we may also embody God’s glorious bounty of love in this world.
It is this love that is the essence of life, the sweet elixir that every soul seeks. It is this love that gives life meaning, and grants us true vision. It is this love alone that we call heaven.
There is no other truth, or light outside of love. Like a fish living and swimming in the ocean searching for water, we too search for God’s love, ignorant of it’s all-pervasive presence in our lives.
With Love,
Light of God
All Are Welcome With Love ~ In-person Worship ~ Sundays at 11am
Dear Friends:
This fourth week of Advent's theme of love reminds us to pause from our busy schedules to remember that God so loved this world. Sharing love with one another is the best Christmas gift we can offer our friends and family.
The Parent Tot video includes a story called, "I Love You Through and Through, at Christmas, too" as well as these songs: Light One Candle, It's About Love, I've Got the Joy, Frosty the Snowman, and Away in a Manger.
The Family Fun video has these songs: Hope is a Star, I am Becoming Peace, Magic Penny, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, and Hallelujah. It also has the reading of a Robert Munch book called, "Finding Christmas."
May you and yours continue to enjoy all the preparations of this season of love.

“Sacred Heart devotion is not magic or some automatic ticket to heaven; it is a sacred way for us to encounter the fullness of the Gospel, the good news of God’s saving love poured out for us in Jesus Christ. As we steadily progress in our knowledge and communion with the Lord, we will fall ever more deeply in love with Jesus and live out that transforming and redemptive relationship in every detail of our lives. This devotion unites our minds, hearts and wills in one great act of oblation — a total gift of the self to the One who has first offered himself completely to and for us.”
– Bishop Donald J. Hying
“The eye through which I see God is the same eye through which God sees me; my eye and God’s eye are one eye, one seeing, one knowing, one love.”
– Meister Eckhart
“I am as sure as I live that nothing is so near to me as God. God is nearer to me than I am to myself; my existence depends on the nearness and the presence of God.”
– Meister Eckhart

PRAYER
Dear God,
Thank you that you are a loving, gracious God. Thank you that you’ve offered us forgiveness and the gift of new life in you. Thank you that your love is perfect, it never fails, and that nothing can separate us from your love.
We pray that our lives would be filled and overflowing with the power of your love so we can make a difference in this world and bring honor to you. We ask for your help in reminding us that the most important things are not what we do outwardly, it’s not based on any talent or gift, but the most significant thing we can do in this life is simply to love you and to choose to love others.
Help us to love as you love. Fill us with your Spirit so that we can choose what is best. We are weak Lord, but we know also, that even when we are weak, you are strong within us. Thank you that it’s not all up to us. Thank you that you equip us to face each day with the power of your love, your forgiveness, and your grace.
We are forever grateful.
Amen
