Message from Light of God Ministry • Reverend Mary White
Good Day and Blessings!
For us introverts, silence is one way to rejuvenate our spiritual energy. Spending quiet time in open spaces deepens the spiritual experience. Perusing the vast ocean, a wide-open land mass, or the starry night sky are encounters that gives life to the Spirit within. When we explore the cosmos, we tend to be aware of numerous massive forces at work, forces that invigorates and expands the soul and connects us with our Higher Power.
With Love

Our 1st Tea Party Celebration
Three of us helped celebrated Hanna Dewynter's 99th Birthday by having our First Tea Party.
Hanna, Bev, Lynn & Marilynn enjoyed tea, goodies, and delightful conversation. Sitting in the sun on Hanna's patio was an added bonus.
Reading Excerpt from “Quiet” by Susan Cain
Whoever you are, bear in mind that appearance is not reality. Some people act like extroverts, but the effort costs them in energy, authenticity, and even physical health. Others seem aloof or self-contained, but their inner landscapes are rich and full of drama. So, the next time you see a person with a composed face and a soft voice, remember that inside her mind she might be solving an equation, composing a sonnet, designing a hat. She might, that is, be deploying the powers of quiet.
Coffee Fellowship Continues after Church Service
The coffee chatter was much appreciated by those who joined the fellowship following service last Sunday. Thanks to those who assisted with the coffee brewing and those who have made bringing their cup to church a new habit to lighten the cleanup duty. See you after church Sunday and if you have forgotten your mug a compostable paper cup will be available.
Flea Market and Fundraising Event • Saturday May 14th 9am to 3pm
Donations of plants for Flea Market can be dropped off at the church on May 12th & 13th during office hours (10am - 2pm).
Please bring any donations of baked goods, wrapped appropriately and priced on the morning of May 14th.

Poem • Silence by Giles David
When the world tells us we are what we do with our activity, insight or achievement
Let us learn
We are what we do with our silence
When the world tells us we are what we do with our spending power, selling power, or our power of speech
Let us learn
We are what we do with our silence
When the world tells us to drown the silent sufferings of others with indifference or noise or to forget the art of stillness in the storm
Let us learn
We are what we do with our silence
When the world tells us to rush in where angels fear to tread, let us learn that angels listen first before they take a step for the voice of Love in the silence…

Prayer by Julie M. Hulme
O Gracious Spirit
Accept my offering, though it is incomplete. Accept my quiet time, though it is often broken, my energy, though it is often frail. Lead me, guide me, hold me in your straight and simple way, and let me shine in the remembrance of your love, one holy whole, knowing peace in the still flame of my soul.
Amen
