Lineage of Change

Message from Light of God Ministry • Reverend Mary White

 SOMETHING TO CONTEMPLATE

Getting older is truly a blessing, a gift to be appreciated. We have had so much life experience, and therefore, knowledge to convey. Recognizing that we humans are lifelong learners, it is now time to move deeper within to experience the self.  We can pass the life baton on to younger generations who are quite capable of taking over the journey started by ancestors long gone. With faith and trust, we let go of the reigns and leave the planning to those who are open to embrace the risks of change.

With Love,
Rev. Mary White

YOUNG FAMILY FUN WITH BRENDA PIELLE

Dear Friends:

We are approaching a long weekend when we will celebrate Family Day.  I am wishing you some meaningful time together for this special day. Families are so important to all of us at any age.  Feelings of safety, security, belonging, identity, support, and love are some of the many benefits our young people can gain from their family.

This week the Family Fun video includes a story about a friendship between a sled dog and a polar bear as well as these songs: This is the Day, Kum by Ya, Peace Like a River, and Magic Penny.

The Parent tot video has these songs: Welcome Everyone, God Made Me, If You're Happy and You Know It, The B-I-B-L-E, and The More We Sing Together as well as a story about happiness.

I hope these videos bring some smiles to the faces in your home, and Happy Family Day!

From “The Circle Of Life: The Heart's Journey Through The Seasons” by Joyce Rupp

The challenge of winter is how to go within without feeling locked in. Winter has much to teach us about the inner journey. It suggests a time of resting and deepening, a time to gather the resources needed in other seasons. Winter has a lovely way of calling us home to what is essential. Among those essentials is the simple act of waiting in trust and not trying to make anything happen. We can’t lock out all the cold, unpleasant parts of winter or of life. If we try to do that, we will also lock out some of the beauty. We can, however, learn to let some of our plans go, and practice receiving what just is. Winter, with its sensational kind of letting go, is a marvelous teacher and has secrets to share with us.

No More Crisis To Hero Through

I have no reason anymore to be other than I am.

The things that grow into soul, though they depend on everything, need no one’s approval.

And the love I’ve wanted so badly softens in the patches of ground showing through the snow.

We humans have misconstrued the way. Beauty is not just to look at—it is food and those destined to find their beauty are also destined to be used.

In time, we feed off each other and, though we can taint everything with our fear, we can be battered from our grip until we take turns being that which wants and that which is found, taking lifetimes to be the patch of light or the vine inching out the ground.

The Lineage of Change is Eternal and Unbroken

Prayer

From “Anam Cara” by John O'Donohue

   A Blessing for Old Age

May the light of your soul mind you, May all of your worry and anxiousness about becoming old be transfigured, May you be given a wisdom with the eye of your soul, to see this beautiful time of harvesting.

May you have the commitment to harvest your life, to heal what has hurt you, to allow it to come closer to you and become one with you.

May you have great dignity, may you have a sense of how free you are, and above all may you be given the wonderful gift of meeting the eternal light and beauty that is within you.

May you be blessed, and may you find a wonderful love in yourself for yourself.
