Seasons of The Spirit

Good Day and Blessings:

I subscribe to Seasons of The Spirit: Seasonfusion, Woodlake Publishing Inc. 2019, which is a program guide for weekly worship. This week I came across the following:

“There is a philosophy derived from the Nguni Bantu people called “Ubuntu.” Roughly translated it means, “I am because we are.” The spirit of this idea is that we share a common humanity. According to this idea, each individual depends on the community as a whole to understand the fullness of what it means to be fully human.”

This “Ubuntu” is how I am feeling today, so grateful to belong to a faith community.  Besides family and being safe, I wonder what you are grateful for today?

Keep safe, Keep connected.

Blessings and the strength of Love be with you.

1 Timothy 1:12-14 (The Message Bible)

I’m so grateful to Christ Jesus for making me adequate to do this work. He went out on a limb, you know, in trusting me with this ministry. The only credentials I brought to it were criticism and witch hunts and arrogance. But I was treated mercifully because I didn’t know what I was doing—didn’t know Who I was doing it against! Grace mixed with faith and love poured over me and into me. And all because of Jesus.

Prayer Of The Day

Life Giving Spirit, help us remember today the strength of our ancestors.

We are born into earthly families that form our cultural identities.

We are also born into families that form our spiritual identities.  We pray for those who do not share our beliefs and ask for the grace that will keep us out of that struggle.  We pray for ourselves and ask for Love that will reveal to us who we are, who we are becoming, and ways that we may love and be loved in a challenging world.

We belong to one another. Amen.
