Good Day And Blessings
I have been praying today for the members of the Navigation Team. I am so grateful for each one and for all the time and energy that they put into their Ministry. Each one is proficient in the area for which they have taken responsibility. While doing research, I sited the following about Ministry from Timothy Eaton Memorial United Church, April 27, 2008 - "A Sermon Series On The New Creed"
M I N I S T R Y
The foundation of ministry is character.
The nature of ministry is service.
The motive of ministry is love.
The measure of ministry is sacrifice.
The authority of ministry is submission.
The purpose of ministry is the glory of God.
The tools of ministry are the Word of God in prayer.
The privilege of ministry is growth.
The power of ministry is the Holy Spirit.
The model for ministry is Jesus Christ.
I have no doubt that each member of the Navigation Team holds in their heart these characteristics in relation to their Ministry. We at Powell River United Church appreciate all that you continue to do for us.

When Giving Is All We Have

We give because someone gave to us.
We give because nobody gave to us.
We give because giving has changed us.
We give because giving could have changed us.
We have been better for it,
We have been wounded by it—
Giving has many faces: It is loud and quiet,
Big, though small, diamond in wood-nails.
Its story is old, the plot worn and the pages too,
But we read this book, anyway, over and again:
Giving is, first and every time, hand to hand,
Mine to yours, yours to mine.
You gave me blue and I gave you yellow.
Together we are simple green. You gave me
What you did not have, and I gave you

I thank God through Jesus for every one of you. That’s first. People everywhere keep telling me about your lives of faith, and every time I hear them, I thank God, whom I so love to worship and serve by spreading the good news of his Son—the Message!—knows that every time I think of you in my prayers, which is practically all the time, I ask God to clear the way for me to come and see you. The longer this waiting goes on, the deeper the ache. I so want to be there to deliver God’s gift in person and watch you grow stronger right before my eyes! But don’t think I’m not expecting to get something out of this, too! You have as much to give me as I do to you.

Gracious Life Giver
With Christ as their Teacher, You have blessed us with those who govern from the heart
They have created space where the spirit of diversity and wonder are cherished.
They hold the health of the community at the forefront
Each competent in their abilities will lean into the difficult decisions yet reach out to others for support.
May you embrace them with good health so they are able to continue to Serve with Love.
This we pray in the name of the One who journey’s with us.
