Live Wisely

Good Afternoon and Blessings

I am not sure how reliable our memories of the past really are. This doubt was reinforced when my sister claimed one of my memories as her own.

From the beginning of my memory, our Mother would take us on long walks down bumpy dirt roads to visit friends. At about age 4, I recall sitting at the foot of the carriage leaning over the side watching the wheels roll over the potholes. I had shared this as one of my first memories. A few months later my sister told the same story as her memory. I explained that it was, no doubt, impossible for her to remember that incident because she was about 2 months old and sleeping during the event. And by the time she was 4 years old, we were living elsewhere in a different community.

I wonder, how your past is remembered?

Blessings and the strength of Love be with you.

Ecclesiastes 7:10-15 Living Bible (TLB)

Don’t long for “the good old days,” for you don’t know whether they were any better than these!

To be wise is as good as being rich; in fact, it is better. You can get anything either by wisdom or by money, but being wise has many advantages.

See the way God does things and fall into line. Don’t fight the facts of nature. Who can straighten what God has made crooked?  Enjoy prosperity whenever you can, and when hard times strike, realize that God gives one as well as the other—so that everyone will realize that nothing is certain in this life.

And no one knows what will happen in the future.

Prayer of the Day

Spirit of Gentleness

We are thankful that with Wisdom at your side, you blew life throughout the earth. Sometimes, we overlook how wonderful our lives are and tend to grasp onto the past.

Help us, we pray, to wisely live with gratitude in the present, and with hope in the future. Help us to keep in mind that You are with us as we experience life in the mountains and valleys. We pray this in the safekeeping of the Spirit.

Amen
