Daily Message and Prayer from Rev. Mary White

Good Afternoon and Blessings

As children, we take on our parent’s and extended family’s values which is a natural occurrence. We practice what we observe. In my family we were taught not to get involved with other people’s problems. Especially those we don’t know. Look the other way! We were to mind our own business and live and let live.

But, as I began to mature, I recognized that there are those in society who don’t have a voice and have requirements that need someone or a group of  like-minded people to walk with them.

As an adult, I understand the philosophy behind live and let live.

I have come to the understanding that “live and let live” leads to inclusion rather than exclusion. We have no right to project our own life experiences and world view on to other adults.

Keep safe, Keep connected.

Blessings and the strength of Love be with you.

2 Corinthians 9:12-15

Carrying out this social relief work involves far more than helping meet the bare essential of those in need. It also produces abundant and bountiful thanksgivings. This relief offering is a prod to live at your very best, showing your gratitude to your Higher Power by being openly obedient to the plain meaning of the Messiah. You show your gratitude through your generous offerings to your needy brothers and sisters, and really toward everyone. Meanwhile, moved by the extravagance of the Creator in your lives, they’ll respond by praying for you in passionate intercession for whatever you need. Thanks for this gift, God’s gift. No language can praise it enough!

Prayer Of the Day

Extravagant Provider,

There is power and influence in our life experiences and through you, we are called to make choices that are right for the situation. Provide us with the wisdom to recognize when our help is required and give us the courage to act when we are needed. Grant us the confidence to speak for those who are not empowered to speak. Transform us to be people with the passion to act from a place of love, respect, acceptance, and understanding.

We pray this in the name of the One acclaimed through the generations.

Amen
