Breath for the Wise

REMAINING FAITHFUL MESSAGE FROM REVEREND MARY WHITE

Good Afternoon and Blessings

How many of us have heard these words from a parent “Don’t make those nasty faces at others or your face will stay that way”? They were teaching us, as very young children, not to mock or make fun of others.

As adults, we are aware that we are all created with different abilities, and we have learned to accept others with compassion and Love. Sometimes we are challenged by those who are pessimistic. But by knowing ourselves, we are capable of considerately hearing other’s opinions without being personally affected. Everybody deserves to be heard with respect.

Stay safe. Stay connected.

Blessings and the strength of Love be with you.

Rev. Mary

Reading Proverbs 9:10

If you reason with an arrogant cynic, you’ll get slapped in the face; confront bad behaviour and get a kick in the shins. So don’t waste your time on a scoffer; all you’ll get for your pains is abuse. But if you correct those who care about life, that’s different—they’ll love you for it! Save your breath for the wise—they’ll be wiser for it; tell good people what you know—they’ll profit from it. Skilled living gets its start in the Heart-of-God, insight into life from knowing a Higher Power. It’s through me, Lady Wisdom, that your life deepens, and the years of your life ripen. Live wisely and wisdom will permeate your life; mock life and life will mock you.

Prayer

Loving Spirit

Bestow upon us the patience to be present to those who are calling out to be heard.

May we remember that in the united efforts of our community toward shared intentions we are reinforced and made complete.

Let your loving will, infuse and lead us.

Amen
