Gesture of Love

Remaining Faithful Message From Reverend Mary White

Good Afternoon and Blessings

How often do we appreciate the smallest gesture –a cup of tea, a smile, a door held open, a listening ear?

I observe the small gestures as acts of Love. It is a way of saying that the Love in me sees the Love in you and you are worthy. We are made richer in giving Love and receiving it from others with gratitude. Through these smallest of gestures, let us value the gifts that we can never earn.

Stay safe. Stay connected.

Blessings and the strength of Love be with you.

Rev. Mary

Reading Excerpt from “The Inner Voice of Love”

– Henri J. M. Nouwen

A love that comes to you through human beings is true, God-given love and needs to be celebrated as such. When human friendships prove to be unlivable because you demand that your friends love you in ways that are beyond human capacity, you do not have to deny the reality of the love you received.

God has given you a beautiful self. There God dwells and loves you with the first love, which precedes all human love. You carry your own beautiful, deeply loved self in your heart. You can and must hold on to the truth of the love you were given and recognize that same love in others who see your goodness and love you.

Prayer

Spirit of Love

All our days, you have blessed us with unconditional Love. May we recognize and accept that we are worthy of such grace, freely given. As we continue on this life path, may we give action to this great Love by responding to others with acceptance and loving-kindness. May we be an example of unconditional love to all we encounter. We pray in the name of the One who guides us.

Amen
